Bisexual Pride

What is Bisexual Mean?

Bisexual originally meant a person who experiences romantic and /or sexual attraction to both men and women. As we as society become more aware and mindful of other genders and gender expressions, Bisexuality has been redefined as being attracted to more than one gender. Bisexuality does not always mean a complete split down the middle between heterosexual and Homosexual. Bisexual/ Bi folks can be found anywhere from a 1-5 on the Kinsey Scale.

According to Wikipedia, The flag was designed by Michael Page in 1998 to increase the visibility of bisexuals among society as a whole and within the LGBT community. He aimed to give the bisexual community a symbol that is comparable to the rainbow flag for the greater LGBT community. The ”’bisexual flag”’ is a pride flag representing Bisexuality, Bisexual individuals and the Bisexual community. The pink stripe represents Homosexuality, while the blue stripe represents Heterosexuality. The purple stripe, the resulting “overlap” of the blue and pink stripes, represents attraction regardless of sex or gender.
