LGBT+ Resources

Having moved to many places over the years, I find myself always looking to find my local community. It is not always easy to find important community resources through normal everyday searches.

Here I am creating a list of links to places such as LGBT Suicide Prevention hotlines, LGBT+ Elder Support, Transgender Healthcare Clinics, LGBT+ Youth organizations, P-Flag chapters and more.  Stay tuned.

It is important to note that I have no affiliation with any of these programs. I am posting these here to help make our community stronger.

If you know of any links you feel would be beneficial, Please drop me an email at TheGreenSatyr@Gmail.com

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States. We’re committed to improving crisis services and advancing suicide prevention by empowering individuals, advancing professional best practices, and building awareness.

The LGBTQ+ community is diverse and made up of different experiences, identities, and challenges. However, members of the community are disproportionately at-risk for suicide and other mental health struggles. Click here to find information and resources for yourself and to help support loved ones who identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

Here’s what we want you to know:

  • We don’t define what a crisis is and isn’t, and you don’t need to be in crisis to call.
  • Call us for any reason. You deserve support.
  • Your call will be answered by a trans person.
  • There’s nothing you have to say, or any intake questions you’ll have to answer. We can just talk to you, or we can just listen.
  • If you experience vocal dysphoria, we won’t assume your gender identity.
  • You won’t be asked for any identifying information.
  • We do not call any emergency services, or otherwise break your confidentiality without your explicit request.
